About backio
backio receives backup archives over HTTP and forwards them to any cloud provider rclone can reach. Another container posts a tar archive to POST /backup, backio uploads it, and replies with where it went. Backups can be listed and deleted the same way.
It ships the official rclone binary, so every rclone backend is there: S3 and S3-compatible stores like R2 and MinIO, Google Drive, Dropbox, SFTP, Backblaze B2 and the rest.
Each token carries grants for a provider, a folder and what it may do there, so one app can't touch another's backups. A companion image, backio-agent, sits next to an app and handles naming, history and clean-up, so the app only has to produce an archive.
Run it
docker network create backup-net
docker run -d --name backio \
--network backup-net \
-v backio-data:/data \
-e RCLONE_CONF_BASE64="$RCLONE_CONF_BASE64" \
ghcr.io/reeywhaar/backio:latest
Configuration, backups and the rest are in the README.
